Gotu list terms

1. The list

These terms apply to the Gotu list on gotu-app.com and to My Gotu. They come from Gotu app (Gotu, "Gotu"), Beethovenstraat 25-3, 1077 HM Amsterdam, KvK 91569087. Once you use the Gotu app, the terms of use and the deal terms apply as well.

• Signing up is free.
• You are 18 or older.
• One spot per person, with your own mobile number. You confirm that number with a text code.

2. Your spot and your status

You get a spot once you confirm your number. Your spot sets your status:

• Founder: spots 1 to 100;
• Pioneer: spots 101 to 999;
• Early access: spot 1000 and up.

Friends get you a higher status, without anyone else losing theirs:

• with Early access you get Pioneer at 2 friends and Founder at 5 friends;
• with Pioneer you get Founder at 3 friends;
• if a venue goes live as a Gotu partner through your venue link, you get Founder.

Your status is yours and cannot be transferred. Your spot and status stay, also when you get a higher status.

3. What your status gives you at launch

• Early entry: with Founder you can use the app 72 hours before launch, with Pioneer 48 hours and with Early access 24 hours.
• Founder credit: with Founder you get 5 Gotu after your own first deal in the app.
• Extras, such as a Founders evening or launch deals: if we organise them, by invitation and while there is room.

The launch date on gotu-app.com is an estimate. If it moves, the moments above move with it.

4. Inviting friends

• A friend counts towards your status once they sign up through your link and confirm their number.
• You get 5 Gotu per friend once you both have an account in the app and your friend has redeemed a first deal (confirmed by staff).
• This applies to up to 10 friends (50 Gotu), together with the friends you invite in the app.
• Your friend then gets a 5 Gotu welcome bonus.
• A friend counts once, and only through the link they signed up with.

5. Partner

Partner is a status Gotu gives to people it has a marketing arrangement with. You can apply in My Gotu; Gotu decides on every application.

• Partner replaces Founder, Pioneer and Early access.
• You get 5 Gotu per friend, on the same conditions as above, up to 5,000 Gotu (1,000 friends).
• Credit you get as a Partner through friends never expires.
• You keep the 5 Gotu Founder credit after your own first deal.
• Gotu can end Partner status, for example when the arrangement ends. Credit already on your account stays yours.

6. Gotu credit

• 1 Gotu is €1 of credit at Gotu places. How to use it is in the deal terms.
• Gotu credit is not money: you cannot transfer it or exchange it for money.
• Credit expires 12 months after you got it, except Partner credit earned through friends.
• Credit lives on your account in the app. Without an account we cannot pay it out.

7. Fair play

You may not:

• take more than one spot, or use a number that is not yours (such as a temporary or virtual number);
• invite yourself or fake sign-ups;
• buy or sell invites, or spread them with spam or bots.

In case of (suspected) abuse Gotu can refuse a sign-up, withdraw a status or credit, or remove a spot. You can object at support@gotu-app.com.

8. Changes

Gotu can change or end the list, the statuses, the rewards and these terms, to the extent the law allows.

• We tell you in advance, by email or in My Gotu, about a change that is to your disadvantage.
• Gotu credit already on your account stays yours.
• If you don't agree with a change, you can always unsubscribe.

9. Unsubscribing, data and law

• Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your spot removed, email support@gotu-app.com.
• How we handle your number and email address is in the privacy policy.
• Dutch law applies to these terms. Your rights as a consumer always remain.
